10% is still a significant number. Britain has 5% Muslims yet in fear of Islam and Sharia law....

Uganda's Christians do not represent Jesus Christ

Neither do many American christians. I am not christian but do believe there may have been a Jesus. He would be horrified to see what is done in his name. That WWJD phase was such a crock!

Ugandan Muslims only wear the traditional garments on certain days. They don't seem to be very strict and they get along just fine with the christians. I never heard of Sharia law being practiced there.

They're from extreme groups. Most religious Protestants like religious Catholics these days, as they find commonalities in both being Christian. Catholics are viewed about as favorably as non-fundamentalist Protestants.

Americans Have Net-Positive View of U.S. Catholics

Interestingly, atheists are viewed more negatively than Muslims. The negatives go both ways: a [Catholic] Republican congressman from Long Island said some of his southern party members sounded like "hillbillies at revival meetings [evangelical born again christianity]". Evangelical Christianity is only one form of Christianity and not very common in much of the Northeast. Catholicism is more common, and in hometown, Jews were probably more numerous than Protestants, and for sure evangelical ones.

If you have read the Bible, you will know that Uganda's Christians does indeed represent it. The Bible says that gays should be executed, and so thinks the Ugandan Christians, who are very influenced by sects of American Protestants who financially supports them.

10% is not significant, the vast majority of Uganda are Christians and it is the Ugandan Christians and their American pals who calls for gays to be executed and supports the criminalization of homosexuality that currently carries several years in prison for those convicted for being homosexuals.

The Muslims of Uganda, which is a small minority, does not have much to do with it.

Similarly, 10% of Syria are Christians, yet I don't think many would label Syria as a Christian nation.

More to do with colonialism than religion and anyone that studies this would know that the religious aspect is a very shallow explanation of the situation.
I agree with your point that it has more do to with nationalism than religion. The Irish did see these Scottish/English and French Huguenots settlers there as invaders a long time ago. The ansesters of these settlers do see them as British citizens now and support the Union. If they were not protestant and followed a different religion the Irish would still see them as invaders.

Yet there is still some religious tensions, and it due to the identity of the people. Unionists are much more likely to be Protestant and Catholics are much more likely to be Republican.

With these tensions there were a riot when an Orange Order march entered a Catholic region in Belfast this year.

"Orangemen, loyalist bands and their supporters, flanked by a phalanx of heavily armoured riot police, marched past the Ardoyne shops along the Crumlin Road while a small group of local Catholic residents held a silent protest.

Catholic residents from the nearby Carrick Hill area claimed loyalist bandsmen shouted: "Stick a poker up the Pope's hole," and played songs including the Ulster protestant anthem The Sash

Yet of course the Orange marches are mostly peaceful in matter: .More than 30,000 Orangemen and their supporters, accompanied by flute and accordion bands, are taking part in 550 parades to mark King William of Orange's victory over the Catholic King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. The vast majority of these marches are peaceful and non-contentious"

Orange Marches are not as big as in the past and they only exist today there as well as in Scotland and parts of Canada. Only Protestants and those that believe in the principals of the organisation are eligible to be members of the Orange Order.

Who's decided that Christianity is the "true" religion? Might be Buddhism for all I know. Or Norse paganism.

It is.... Christianity is the world's largest and main dominant religion in the western world.
No Christianity = No western culture = No freedom or democracy

Jesus was the most famous and influential person who has ever walked on Earth.
