Sure, you have the Spanish empire, Mongol empire (larger), Russian empire, communists would add the American empire - that includes UK, according to them. Everything is relative.

The Channel and the 'elements' were the same for both sides you know! Can you prove that the outcome would have been different if the 'elements' were different? No I don't think you can!

America doesn't have an 'Empire' try looking up the definition of 'Empire', if the UK (or anywhere else for that matter) was part of an 'Empire' it wouldn't be completely self governing, also the British Empire was larger than the Mongol Empire - try googling it!

Still waiting for your response for the second time, perhaps because you can't answer it. If it was only down to the channel every time, why was this not a hindrance for the Romans, Vikings or Normans? Answer: Because there was no Royal Navy to prevent them. Simple really.

Further to that, the Armada was receiving quite a bashing from the English, hence the reason for it heading up north to where it ran into the storm which ultimately finished it off. They would have been defeated either way.

Yeah, strange that the "elements" didn't effect the Royal Navy!

An invader that fails to take into account the body of water separating it from it's intended goal does not have the body of water to blame when boats and other floating conveyances have been in existence for centuries prior.

Such an invader only has it's own poor leadership to blame.

There is a reason why the French Empire is not of historical significance in comparison to the British empire when they both had the same oceans to cross and it has nothing whatsoever to do with floating conveyances or bodies of water.

Indeed I can. They would have landed.

Look up Southhampton in Wikipedia, they had harbors to shelter them.

Very subjective, entirely subjective. Russians also had an empire.
