Whether people are dark featured or not they are all still Europeans. Europeans are diverse in colouring but not in genetics. All Europeans are closely related. Having darker colouring is just due to genetics in that darker colouring is dominant. Some populations have different characteristics due to isolation and bottlenecks. Italians, Greeks, Irish, Norwegians we are all Europeans because our populations are part of the European continent. Whether Italians are darker than Spanish people doesn't make one population more European than the other.

You are right, but the question of the thread was whether they were darker or not, and the fact is they are darker than Iberians. This has nothing to do being more European, rather skin tone in Europe is lighter as one goes north into Europe and also goes west into Europe. For this reason Skin type I is more common as one goes north and west into Europe. It all has to do more with adaptation than "being more European" than the other. Italians are dark.
Yes, there's more northern European ancestry than southern European ancestry but that wouldn't mean southern Europeans in the US would be thought of as looking "hispanic", rather than just white or maybe Italian-American.
Oh don't go too far. There are White Hispanics as well. Anyway the term Hispanic is not based on race rather language or culture. Hispanics can vary from white to black. Thus a White Hispanic could easily resemble Spaniards, Portuguese, Italians, Greeks and quite a few French people. The difference between a Spaniard and Italian is many times negligeable. Hispanic are not only Mexicans, but also Argentinians, Urugwayans from whom many are whites who resemble Southern Europeans. You just didn't understand what is meant by Hispanic.

Quit saying Italians are similar to swarthy mediterraneans like Spaniards, Portuguese and Greeks. Most Italians are actually Germanic unless they really have other ancestry from one of those countries

Is that what Hitler told the Italians in order to forge any alliance with them?
The fact that a huge racist like Hitler considered Italians as white as Germans and not like swarthy Mediterranean Greeks and Spaniards proves how white Italians are
