I am traveling through Reykjavik in June, and will have about 7 hours layover. Is that time enough to see a bit of the city? How difficult it is to get from the airport to the city center?

There is Flybus, Grey Line Airport Express and individual taxis. A ride to the city centre will take you 45 minutes. Is it worth it? I don't know...

I wonder how much 2 45-minute taxi rides in Iceland would set you back...

No, you wouldn't.

I would say Keflavík, if I remember correctly, is at least 45 minutes from the capital. And Reykjavík as a city has absolutely nothing to offer anyone, so why bother? I would take the local bus and stop at the nearest store, buy some supplies, and venture the one thing Iceland really has to offer - the unique nature - by foot for a couple of hours.

7 hours is a long time. I would travel to Reykjavik, just to pass some time.

Go to the blue lagoon instead. They have baggage storage and tours set up basically for people who have layovers such as yours.

I agree. For this short of time, head to the Blue Lagoon. They've got it all worked out for this kind of layover.
