Although major European cities are always vying for the Olympics, most Europeans I know could care less about the event. What say you?

true. They obviously care much more about speed skating and skiing than the rest of the world. What about the majors - Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Britain? I'd guess citizens of Britain and Germany have a higher interest level due to their country's relative success at the Olympics.

Yeah, people here care about the winter games. So, the disappointment that we perform that poor this time is quite big.

And no.
It is difficult to speak for 730000000 people.

Despite not having any winter over here this year, the Netherlands has won the most medals so far . Especially when normalized over the number of inhabitants.

I think you mean 'couldn't care less', if they could care less it means they care. In Britain there is absolutely zero interest in the Winter Olympics (where I live and work anyway), it could be because Britons tend not to have many winter Olympians (lack of snow makes it hard to train compared to countries blessed with snowy mountains), the only famous British winter Olympian I know is Eddie 'the eagle' Edwards - famous for coming last in the ski-jump, famous becuase he had to pay his own way to the games and (I think) the jump he made in the competition was the first time he had actually gone down a ski-jump, he used to practice by jumping off of his garden shed roof!

Rofl.

I personally don't find the winter games that appealing compared to the summer ones. I prefer disciplines where you have to relay on your skill and abilities rather than on technology and other factors.
