While you state you are from Kharkiv, it is amazing that you think this is something new or recent; the separation issue has been an issue since 1991. The roots of this conflict are in the break-up of the USSR, which broke up along the borders of the USSR and not how reality is on the ground. There has always been a separatists sentiment in east Ukraine, the further east a person goes, the more separatists sentiment there is. The straw that broke the camel's back was the ousting of a president east Ukraine voted for.
You being in Kharkiv should very well know that the USSR gifted east Ukraine to the Ukrainian SSR in order to bring up Ukraine's economy. The people there and history do not have near the connection with Ukraine as does with Russia.
I love how you keep rattling off "terrorists", you sound like a parrot from Kiev. As another poster stated, these separatists are not terrorists even in the most liberal sense of the word. Even the biased western media does not label them as such. Kiev just invoked this word trying to get some emotion going since that is currently the defacto word to go to to describe people you are against right now. No different than Russia labeling everyone "nazis" and know different than Americans keep rattling off "communist" to describe Russia. Idiotic, incorrect labels.
You are so against separatists movements, yet what do you think Ukraine is a product of? Oh yes, a separatists movement, Ukraine declared independence from the USSR. DO you think Ukraine should have stayed with the USSR?
Why in the world do real Ukrainians let a bunch of Galicians take over not only the country, but the ethnic and cultural identity of Ukraine is beyond me. Of course most Ukrainians are aware of this, this is why Kiev has great difficulties in getting anyone to join their military excursion into the east, they have to get criminals and resort to blackmail to get anyone outside the radical fringes to join. This is why recruitment is coming from the west and really no where else, similar to how the Ottomans ran their empire by having different ethnic groups stationed in other areas because they did not care one bit about using force against people not from their own ethnic group.
What real Ukrainians need to do is boot these Galician idiots out of control.
