Coincidentally this is what I am reading on FB now...

What is "Communism"

"Communism" and "Communists" are gone long time ago.
The communist parties of Russia and Ukraine are conservative parties of nostalgic retirees.
The Westnerner's "lefties" are tedious post-modern sects. The true sovietism -communism, in development of which Ukrainians played important role ( important to such degree, that Brezhnev's passport stated "Ukrainian" as his nationality, not to mention the rest of Kirilenkos-Chernenkos-Grechkos in the upper echelon of Soviet leaders,) - so the real communism -sovietism in 21st century is approximately the same as the excavation of Troy.
And the excavation of this Troy is organized primarily with one purpose in mind - to legally assure the Russian apartheid. And since the official defeat of the whole nation is impossible to announce ( the times are wrong for that,) - the St. George ribbon, the red banner and the 9th of May are prohibited. But the idea behind it is still the same. That's why when you see the word "communists" in the resolutions of Ukro-parliament 25 years later after the death of the USSR, substitute it mentally with the word "Russians." And then some more.
Here is the thing though - in Kiev, Kharkov, Kherson, Nikolaev, Odessa and many other our cities there are a lot of nice houses and apartments. They will serve Russian people well, when the fighters against communism will start escaping yet again to Canada.
It's South. It's warm. And there is sun. There will be a lot of free space.

Dmitry Olshansky.

So with that 'ism' gone what is the new name of the Russian political setup? Is it 'Sovietism'. If so it sounds right!

Sovietism implied the extensive social security net; the state taking care of people's needs.
That was the whole idea behind it; so whatever it is now, it's definitely NOT Sovietism.
More like "corporate paradise" state.

You know on that just an observation. I'd think in the days of the old Rus Commonwealth that they had it right when the emperor and his ' dumnye diakis' (lord secretaries) made sure everybody learned how to catch fish instead of just giving the heads to them. Rus then had to look as a 'dynamic' national enterprise.

Odessa, today, clashes on the Walk of Fame.

Residents of the city are celebrating the day of liberation of Odessa from the Germans in World War II. Ukrainian activists prevented them from doing so.

https://youtu.be/kTNuXgETVj8

0:31 Ukrainian activist: "Мало вас пожгли, уродов" (I do not know how translate it. Something like "We had to burn you more, freaks")

ãúрðøýÑÂúøõ ýðцøþýðûøÑÂÑ‚Ñ‹ þôõÑÂÑÂøтðü: "Üðûþ òðѠÿþöóûø, урþôþò!" ÒØÔÕÞ | Ã*ØàÃÂþòþÑÂтø

Two different estimates of historical events, two different countries within one of Ukraine.
Who will win?

UPD: Poroshenko, Odessa, today:

Food Crisis in Eastern Ukraine.

Though it's within Ukraine, the area separating government-held territory and the region controlled by pro-Russia separatists has started to resemble an international border. There, at checkpoints, Ukrainian soldiers stamp passports, and stop and inspect trucks carrying goods to the rebel-controlled east. According to drivers prevented from crossing into separatist territory, the soldiers are purposefully preventing food from getting through.

Idiotic law. Ukraine is trying to change their role in the USSR, when in fact they were very much part of it, a product of it, and numerous ethnic Ukrainians fought for for USSR even before the USSR was formed as part of the revolutionaries. Additionally, ethnic Ukrainians held high roles in the USSR including the second longest serving Soviet leader. Ukraine trying to cast off its role in the USSR is like if Virginia tried to cast off its role in the USA.

I can not keep track of all posts. I'm sorry if the news has already been published previously.

But can you explain the actions of the Canadian authorities? Is it not awful?
