Yes and yes.
I've seen enough of stories from ethnic Russians who tried to relocate to Russia from other former republics ( Ukraine including.)

At this point, the best thing to do would be to officially recognize Crimea as Russian and move on with it.

Putin seeks validation from Western nations, particularly the US. Might as well just give it to him and be done with the sanctions. He’s already lost all his hair.

But as always, Russia doesn't operate with logic, but nostalgia, paranoia and hatred. Don't play coy, Russia thinks that the Baltic States are their property, and even if they aren't, they should be. It's an insult to Russian imperialists that these countries even exist in the first place.
You obviously are not up to speed on current events nor the strategic situation Russia is in. Crimea is all important for Russias defense. It's vital.

Not only the Crimea but eastern Ukraine and Georgia, Iran and other places. There are limits. Don't mess with the bear. You need to study modern warfare if you really want to understand why Russia is doing what it is doing. I personally think Russia is making a huge mistake by not invading and securing Ukraine at least up to the Dniepre river. If I were Putin half of Ukraine would be in the Russian federation today.

US and western warhawks understand only one thing. A club to the head.

Putin seeks nothing from the West aside from an end to the insanity which isn't likely to happen anytime soon. Putin and his people seek stability and security for Russia.

I think politically it’s more advantageous to have large Russian populations in post soviet countries than to have them all move to Russia. These Russian populations kind of act as a lobby who vote in pro Russian candidates and policies.

The next Napoleon or Hitler whoever this person is should just check the "climate of Russia in the winter" in wikipedia so we won't have to deal with such posts in the future.

The Black Sea is a puddle of 1000 to 1000 miles. What strategic importance can Russian Black Sea fleet have? It can be destroyed by a massed missile strike by ONE carrier group of the sixth US fleet.

What evidence do you have for this? None.

The naval base in Sevastopol was leased to Russia to at least 2042! They already had their strategic base!

Hell no. Munich Agreement failure all over. You cannot just give in to land-grabbers.

You can say the same about every navy base in the world...

Strikes, nuke strikes, will take them out, thus you are implying every base in the world is not important.

Yet the US maintains how many bases globally? What for if they are not important?

As for strategic importance, but if you do not know even these basics, then I have no idea why you are even in this discussion.

And after 2042? Oh yea, forgot about that future thing, right?
