Oh just to add as far as the Madeira islands go the most famous person of Madeiran ancestry that represents their phenotype would be the soccer player Ronaldo.

As another aside...comparing the islands.

This is just my interpretation based on Google maps, but MADEIRA seems REALLY REALLY HILLY....whereas THE AZORES seems to have a much flatter feel, comparatively anyways.

Is that the reality as well?

For the most part most of the Azores have rolling hills. Pico is very hilly and rocky with the Pico mountain on a clear day you can view 5 islands . Sao Jorge has some steep cliffs with unique topography with cows all over the place.

It say's it is one of the highest in the Atlantic.
Pico del Teide, Fogo, Roque de los Muchachos are higher for example.
