British americans , you can include the Irish in the mix have always been far more influencial all across the US bar certain parts of the Upper Midwest.
Half of those "german" immigrants didnt even come from germany but were in fact allemanic french people and german speaking swiss.
Put an average group of white americans next to aussies (who are largely of British and Irish ancestry) and you will see little to no difference. People in continental europe look like a race apart from the bulk of white americans.
