Not exactly. The Parliament voted on if the law should be changed. Now the lawyers and the legal committee will draft the law, and then it's voted on again. But if the result was 105-92 now, it will go through when it is ready. Though I'm straight, I'm so happy that the vote was in favour. The legal committee seems to be 14-8 in favour, but the law is not ready yet.

There was a big support and demonstrations outside the parliament.

I thought, that this episode is part of the Finnish Civil War:
Massacre of Russians in Viipuri, 29 April 1918 - Axis History Forum

Russian text which is written based on the book Teemu Keskisarja "Viipuri 1918" (I'm not sure that the text is correct, because I have not read the original):

Original:
Viipuri 1918

Russian modern representation of the Winter War (talvisota):

Over 10,000 people were executed and 15,000 died in prison camps in the Finnish Civil War, so it was a very brutal conflict. Compared to that some 12,000 were killed in the actual fighting.

The massacres weren't targeted on Russians, but bolsheviks, no matter what the nationality was. Even Finnish children were executed.

About the gay marriage law:

"This is shameful, Finland has opened the gates to hell. Marshal Mannerheim has turned in his grave a few times. This terrible, filthy sodomic minority has sneaked itself into power in Finland."

- Vitali Milonov, St. Petersburg city council
