Yes that is correct…. And if you visit Oslo in Norway then you more or less visit two countries at once. You will ask yourself "dayym is this Sweden or Norway !?! The map says Norways capitol, but everyone speaks swedish, that is so weird"

avoid: bergsjön, hjällbo, hammarkullen, angered.

nothing to see there anyway. not extremly dangerous, but the risk of getting into trouble is significantly higher. especially at night.

I am sure that it is generally a pretty safe place, but is it really for both genders? I don't know why so few people here take the rape statistics seriously. A Polish friend of mine who did an Erasmus there said that you don't really want to hang around at night, especially alone. According to her, Poland is much safer in that aspect.

Besides, Sweden isn´t like the US and I seriously doubt you would have any problems if you do visit the bad areas.
Random but yeah i agree... nothing like the U.S.

Though rape is a problem in Sweden, the definition of rape is very broad and the treshold to come forward (also in fake cases) is very low.

AFAIK, most rape cases are between people who already know each other (for example schoolmates). It's not like there's hordes of predators lurking on streets and parks.

Exactly. Statistics in Norway and Sweden show that most rape is acquaintance rape, not stranger-rape (which usually involves "foreigners"). The same is true in North America, as well.

Yes, but those are the three most populated cities. My goal since the age of thirteen has not been to spend a month in Kungälv or Ängelholm.

Well, since you've undoubtedly matured since age 13, maybe you should branch out. Jonkoping is nice. Beautiful, too. The central coast is nice, as well: Hudiksvall, Sundsvall. Not as crowded as down south, either. Friendly people.
