Whats the size of Britain got to do with anything? The countries influence on the world in the last few hundred years has been immense particularly when you remember it is actually only a small island off the coast of Europe. I often read on here how the UK is doomed or how its going down the pan, the reality is that it is still a very pleasant place to live, with a growing economy, zero inflation and still exporting huge amounts of culture particularly in the entertainment industry (film, music, sports). This weather nonsense is just stereotypical nonsense too, the weather in the UK is in reality rather pleasant (warm summers, cool winters without temperature extremes and actually higher sunshine hours and less rain than Germany). Having said all of that I think Germany is going to be just as pleasant to live in as the UK (unfortunately I've never had the chance to visit that particular country), the fact is there are FAR worse places to live in this world than either of the two countries!

Which is worse, UK or Germany, is like arguing which is worse, Ferrari or Porsche. At the end of the day, they're both pretty good.

Both countries are great but sometimes both are fatalistic, sometimes a Porsche thinking its got an engine of a Skoda

I love both countries, but I think I can relate to Brits a little more. Having said that - my wife is German
