I was thinking about cities more than mountains.
Looking at the winter averages of cities like London, or even Glasgow, I don't see huge differences with some of our cities, like Turin or Milan. Here it is just a little more sunny.

North West Germany and Holland are on the North Sea Coast. Clearly North West Europe.

Look at the summers. At times we do not have them. I have had to turn on my heating system in JULY. Scandinavia does have summer.

No it really wouldn't. Germany is really quite far in from the Atlantic and has quite a continental climate.

Blah blah blah... UK is in northern Europe and I'm in Scandinavia myself.

Yes we are laying on beaches in winter - in the snow. In summer the water around the UK are very cold.
