My cousin studied abroad last year and recently got engaged to a German. She is going to Germany for six weeks to job hunt, and if unsuccessful, will move back to the States at least for a little bit.

She is recently out of college with majors in Finance, Accounting, and German. She is open to anywhere in Germany as her fiance is still in school and can transfer to just about anywhere within the country. She's open to positions, but her first preference would be working in the finance/banking industry, ideally in Investor Relations.

I told her I'd reach out to the good people of C-D on her behalf! If she is able to secure interviews either there, or ahead of time, is the interview process roughly the same as in the US? If not, how does it differ?
Are there any "German" Linked-In sites or anything along those lines? Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Check toytowngermany.com, this is one of the major forums that I know off for English speakers living in Germany. You will get much more information about how to find a job in Germany there.

You network, you apply for a job und ace the interview. Basically the same everywhere.

Unless she has dual citizenship she should look I to her visa situation asap. There is no "move back to the States at least for a little bit" visa.

One big difference is that the resume/CV requires a photo in Germany. Well, not sure if it still 'requires' a photo but it is definitely preferred.

I would suggest your wife get a freelancer visa. Most German companies now prefer doing a part time contract before hiring a person full time. Many non-germans with a german spouse start out this way.

This guide covers pretty much everything about the freelance visa.

She is just engaged, not married to a German. I am not sure if that is enough to stay and work there...
