I'm currently studying Hungarian in preparation for a vacation in Budapest in October. I would like to meet Hungarian-speaking people to practice with.

Where do you live? Best to post your announcement around the media in your town. Or post on the thread here that's for your city.;

I speak hungarian , So I will share some insights, if that may help you. Hungarian is one of the 10 most difficult languages to learn in the world. So , do not be discouraged if you have a hard time pronouncing the language , it is not a european language and the remotest similiar languages are finnish an estonian. the language traces its origins to the ural mts of central asia.. The most important thing to note is that hungarian pronunciation is the key to learning . Practice making the different sounds by watching youtube videos in hungarian , forget the guidebooks , to get a feel for how the sounds are produced . Very hard for most westerners. I have only met 1 person from the usa that learned hungarian , due to having a business in budapest . Don/t get discouraged . Even learning a few words will ingratiate you with most hungarians.Good Luck
