I come from one of the safest countries in the world with one of the lowest incarceration rates on this planet. That is my argument.

My age and whether I have children is totally irrelevant.

Everyone has human rights, also criminals.

Look at the incarceration rate in the US and compare that to Europe. Has that reduced crime? No.
None of this has anything to do with the discussion.

What does dueling have to do with self-defense?

Nor are the incarceration rates much connected; 50 years ago American incarceration rates were much lower but the same self-defense legal standards were there.

it's very relevant as you seem to have zero empathy.

the incarceration rates are as such when you hand slap someone for rape.

juvenile rapists are let off with doing a few days community service and monetary reparations. This helps explain why Sweden is the rape capital of the world. when laws are created to protect criminals, the weakest pay the price.

LIFE trumps all....

If your life is on the line you must use whatever means possible to preserve your LIFE.

This might be a new concept to people who live in a submissive society.

A lot. It's a matter of personal honour. In a duel you defend your personal honour using lethal force, in a home invasion you defend your personal property using lethal force. But it's about honour. That is why you have these "stand your ground" -laws.

I have a lot of empathy. I also have it for criminals. I don't think that our juricial system is meant for revenge, but for rehabilitation. We have had enough lynch mobs in Europe during our history.

I am not saying criminals should get the electric chair, but there are many studies that show that sex criminals, like child molesters for example cannot be rehabilitated. it's not about revenge. whether the criminal is 15 or 51, they ought to pay a price for what they did. cleaning up the side of the road is not a fitting punishment for raping someone and completely ruining their life forever.

What's the correlation between having kids, age and empathy?

Empathy:
noun
the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

My guess is that a parent wouldn't feel sorry for a rapist who was pepper sprayed, unlike Ariete who feels the teenage girl who successfully used it and warded off her rapist should be fined.

Then again, maybe not. But I am going to make that assumption.
