All the more reason why the citizens of host countries shouldn't be paying to provide food and shelter for them if they can afford to smuggle themselves wherever they please.

So they should get free housing even if they have the means to pay for their own housing?

Migrants usually get the clothing that nobody wants anymore and are fit because they don't get to eat that much and do manual labor once they arrive here.

But if they were fat they would be accused of having access to too much food, and if they had rags someone would say they should be cleaned before entering the continent. Racism always finds excuses.

The enormous decline in the price of crude oil has opened a gap into which a hard-pressed government can insert, nearly unnoticed, an extra tax. And that of Germany is openly discussing whether such an imposition on its taxpaying population is the best way of paying for recent immigrants. It seems that those who have little or no choice in these matters will be made to pay for them: and that won't be these 'refugees'. Pity the common people

This pretty much sums it up.

That's pretty much the story, throughout history, of refugees fleeing other countries, the poor/poorest are left behind!

One of my disappointments in this 'migration' is that these refugees appear to be generally better advised and better cared for than the poor or less-fortunate where they come to 'settle'. In other words, they seem to be both more well-to-do and more generously-funded than most of us. And, at times, I speculate seriously on whether their apologists or supporters here are organised or paid in the shadows so to do. Sometimes I feel as though we are are being subtly invaded – by hordes that are not in (military) uniform
