Does anyone here think that Europe dislikes... no, hates... no, loathes the United States? Be honest and explain why.
More importantly, does anyone think that there is a way for Europe and the U.S. to patch things up again, or are they going to be foes forever and ever?

That is a stupid general question. I am a dual Citizen...I hate MYSELF.
What foes are you speaking of??????? Hello....they might HATE "W" but who doesn't? But, us the USA, no more than Danes hate Sweedes or French hate the Spanish etc...
AGH what a waste of words! YUK

I was talking about Europe as a whole, but mostly Western Europe.

Why on earth do you think people in GENERAL HATE American's. There are obviously some people who hate other people for SPECIFIC reasons, but then you probably can find someone in your neighborhood to HATE
Europeans think Americans are fat, stupid, rich, egomaniacs that just care about shopping, celebrities, and driving massive SUVs to their suburban homes that look just like their neighbors' suburban homes.
That's what every European told me when I asked them to list off some American stereotypes. I showed them a picture of my house (which is the classic suburban house - massive garage with a little bit of house) and they just smirked and said, "Does every house in America look alike?"

That has nothing to do with `Hating` it`s simply stereotyping, something residents of any country are saddled with. Dislike of policies, hatred being a little strong imho, is a far cry from hating a whole population...
I`ve just spotted the other thread............DITTO...
Never felt hated in Europe. Most everyone I talked to disliked Bush and the war in Iraq, but the average American is definitely not hated.
I thought my friends and I were treated better in some places, like England and Scotland, because we were Americans. People were friendlier and more helpful when they heard our accents.
Europeans don't hate Americans. A lot of Americans want to believe that Europeans hate them to justify their own hatred of Europeans (Americans love to hate anything other than what the mainstream media forces down their throats). But, it is simply not true.
I dont think all European hate the U.S. but I know that France doesnt really like americans. The French practically hate americans. Other than that...well...a few Germans just hate the Bush.
