I'm not sure I would call Portugal and Greece "wealthy". I mean, developed, yes. But not "wealthy".

Even Spain is borderline "wealthy". I mean, household incomes aren't particularly high compared to other western developed nations. Italy is a little better than the other three.

Not until the EU will remain a reality I am afraid.

That's not what many people were saying like 15-20 years ago.

I think, in terms of median household income, Italy>Spain>Portugal>Greece.

None of these countries are considered super wealthy, though they are all developed, and I think Italy is pretty clearly the wealthiest of the four.

No. They are backwards barbarians who are totally unable to cope with the modern global society, and they are so lazy they fall asleep on the street. They also don't have indoor plumbing so they defecate in their living room while having sex with the goat in their flat.

Now, there you have it. Be my guest. Now go troll-baiting on another forum. You got your fix.

How can one country be developed but not wealthy? Doesn't development bring wealth, and wealth depending on development?
They might be different levels of wealth but in Europe all are wealthy to some extent. Stating otherwise would be like saying at 100 meters sprint olympic final the first 2 are fast and the last 2 are slow. Need to put things in perspective.

So half the world is "wealthy"? I guess we have different standards of "wealthy". To me, there aren't billions of people living in "wealthy" nations.

All of Western Europe, and most of Eastern Europe is developed. Most of the Americas are developed. Half of Asia and the Middle East are developed. Most of Oceana is developed. Really only Africa is mostly third world.

Places like Chile and Bulgaria, aren't wealthy, even if they're developed. The average person lives very modestly, and would be rather poor in the context of the U.S. or Switzerland or Australia. I don't exactly think "wealthy" when thinking of the Carpathians or the Pampas; I think of places like the U.S., Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, etc.
