The U.S. is not Europe. We don't want to be ruled by a king.
Well, to be fair, I don't think many people are being "ruled by a king" in Europe.
In what European country does royalty still rule politically? Liechtenstein is all I can think of, and they only have like 30,000 people (and the people voted to give the prince his power; not like the prince rules over them).
47% unfavorable/ 51% favorable, that’s actually very good, considering here in the U.S. the unfavorable is much higher. Ask any conservative or liberal, and many here actually hate each other for only that reason.

hate is relative. Living in certain cities (regardless of being a lib or a con) makes you a better person. San Diego, salt lake city, and DC (my home town) made me feel bright and energetic. Houston made me want to kill myself

Sure there's lots of traffic and roads that lead you in circles. The difference between Houston though and city like, say, los Angeles is that in LA when your stuck in traffic you know where you want to go. In Houston your just stuck in traffic just to go find more traffic only to realize you have nowhere to go.
My paternal grandparents and my maternal great grandparents left Europe for a NEW life in the U.S. Why younger Americans are so enthralled with Europe and with making the U.S. more like Europe is beyond me. They spent too much time traveling to Europe instead of visiting cities in their own country. The U.S. is not Europe. We don't want to be ruled by a king.
This isn't the year 1416 :-)
