I voted for German, but I consider Swedish and Finnish to be very beautiful too. This should have been a multiple option poll.

Germanic languages are interesting : German, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian,
Latin languages look poetic : Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese
Slavic languages sound misterious

English language is the real mutt ....you cannot say how it sounds, because it is really mixed language, and the reason why its so easy to learn for many people of different backgrounds.

French, Italian or Spanish (voted Italian in the end cause chauvinism). English spoken in a standard London accent isn't shabby either whereas i found most Germanic languages (with the exception of English because it really is a mix between Germanic and Romance and a balanced one as well) harsh. Slavic languages are a mixed bag.

The worst are Danish and Dutch, more so if Flemish :yikes: (i know that because of me being a cycling fan and often watching on Flemish/Dutch streams where i usually prefer muting the commentators)

I have to say that the Welsh accent when speaking English is by far the most beautiful, why is it that it sounds like you are singing every word you speak?

I wouldn't know 3/4 of these languages if I heard them being spoken.

French, Spanish and Italian all sound good. German..not so much.

I love to listen to someone speaking Italian - it's so melodious. I much prefer it over French, which has a nasally quality that I don't care for. Flemish is a hot mess. German and Dutch both sound too harsh to be beautiful to me.

I love an Irish accent and I also like British English.

Slavic languages have a weird sound to me. They are sort of like Asian languages to me in the sense that I simply can't "relate" them to anything that is familiar to me. Plus they sound like paprika to me - sort of jumpy and spicy!

Danish, Norwegian and Swedish are sort of neutral to me. They don't seem extreme in any way.

Yiddish sounds humorous to me!

I like German. So many people say it's harsh but I find it very pleasant.
French, Italian, Portuguese and Hebrew sound pretty nice too.

This is one of the most superficial posts i have ever seen on C-D.

Are Europeans to be viewed as zoo animals - "what a cute language"?

I say Turkish Russian and Italian. I am not familiar with all the languages but a great deal tho. I don't find French that nice sounding I mean nice but i don't like some of the sounds. What do you guys think about Russian or Turkish. I could see people maybe not liking Russian but I think Turkish is beautiful!
