What's it like to live in the Faroe Islands? I've heard it's one of the gloomiest places in the world weather-wise. Is the weather gloomy/depressing enough to make you feel you want to leave?
It's one of the most isolated places in Europe. Only 500 miles north of me but very hard to access, would probably take about 5 hours of flying to get there.

Native language is Danish.
Not correct. The native language is Faroese which is a distinct language. The locals learn Danish in school though. I imagine most of the population is fluent in English too. I have never been there but you are right in that it is difficult to get to due to the weather conditions. Flights are often delayed or even cancelled.
The weather from my research can change in an instant. It can be very foggy and windy even in the summer. I still want to visit though. It's supposed to be beautiful.
I have been there once but never thought of living there. Too isolated, to far away from everything, no jobs, no infrastructure... It is an awesome place to spend a couple of days or even weeks, but thats it. There is only an island with only one single person living on it. Before that, it seems that there were only two families living on the whole island, but due to a dispute they were not talking to each other, lol.
