Are there immigrants that enjoy a middle class lifestyle in Sweden? Are all of them poorer than natives or some (or a lot perhaps) of them do get to enjoy the same economic standards as native Swedes?

Is it common to see non-white immigrants enjoying a middle class lifestyle and working the same type of jobs as a Swede?

I am curious how well new immigrants to the Scandinavian countries learn the local languages. Do they become fluent or just resort to English if they speak that.

Swedish is so ridiculously easy to learn, so yes, they learn fluent Swedish quite quickly.

Based on my experience in Denmark/Sweden I am guessing that most middle class immigrants are from elsewhere in the EU, while the poorer ones tend to be from Africa/Middle East (with a few exceptions of course).

like beasly implied, most middle class migrants are those that have come in previous waves, from the balkan wars etc who have gotten settled in better and better through the decades.

The problem as I see it (apart from Islam being a cocktail of idiocy), is rates of human flow in the journey towards integration.
1. There is one rate at which people flow into the country.
2. There is one rate at which people learn the basics of being here, (which is nearly no time for another european or north american or australian, but significant time for africans and middle-easterns.
3. There is one rate at which people learn a utilizable language (English or Swedish), also hardly any time for europeans etc, but significant time for some others.
4. There is one rate at which people reach employment, a few months for europeans, average 9 years for africans/middle easterners.
5. There is a rate of climbing up the socioeconomic ladder and getting to the middle class.

Only 1 of these rates have been very fast for africa and the middle eastern crowd, and that's flow 1.
Flow 2, 3 and 4 may be paralell but are increasingly slow, and are precursors to begin flow 5.
Since 1 is so much faster than 2,3,4; there is a large accumulation of people who remain in those stages of integration.

There is no simple solution for speeding up any of the rates other than 1, which is the easy valve by which most countries control the flow of the other 4 rates.
What Swedish politicians have done for a long time is to refuse regulating that valve, allowing the flow to run amok. What this does is to fuel the accumulation of non-integrated, socioeconomically weak immigrants, and then act surprised when the problems start reaching the surface.

Ever talked to anyone coming into a lot of contact with them?

Why do so many parents of children who are around 15 years old and born here need government-issues translators to accompany them to parental meetings in the school?
I mean obviously if a woman has given birth to the child 15 years ago in this country, and the child has grown up here, it's reasonable to think the mother was around during the same time-priod... yet learn Swedish? or even English? Nope.

That is unacceptable. Having older first generation immigrants who can't speak the language is understandable. It's a simple reality that as some people age, learning new languages becomes increasingly difficult, especially if they don't already know a second language. However, there's no excuse for the children. There should be enough exposure through school and media for them to easily learn. This is likely the result of having insulated neighborhoods in which the parents intentionally deny their children outside exposure. AKA setting their children up to fail.

Hey since this thread is already here I do have a question about immigrants. Are the reports of the Muslim refugee troubles that you see floating around true?

That is regarding riots, crime and rape committed by refugees. Are these true or is it being blown out of proportion?
