To be honest, I think Madrid, Vienna and Paris will give you pretty much the same big city experience. Obviously, each of those has its own qualities and the exact ranking comes down to personal preference.

Personally, I'd rather live in Vienna or Paris even though I absolutely adore Madrid. Loved every second of my trips to Madrid. I just can't imagine myself living there.

As for Frankfurt, I'd probably pass. There are more interesting German cities. It comes across as incredibly dull. But hey. Friends of mine really enjoy their time there.

No, not because of that.

I just don't feel like I'd be happy living there full-time. That said, it's one of my favourite destinations for a city vacation and I actually like the city a lot.

PineapplePrincess seems to consider a move to Europe. All I can say is that she should probably visit before doing so, if she doesn't feel comfortable enough to make the decision based on information available on the internet.

I'd move to Madrid in a heartbeat, and I would not move to Frankfurt even if I had a great job there.
