rents in dublin are pretty high , they are up about 50% in the past five years since the recovery began , chronic shortage of property is the driving force as well as purchase prices and bank lending restrictions forcing many would be buyers into renting

'Time for Dublin to grow up' - Irish rents are now rising at their fastest rate EVER

The average rent in my city is €18 / m2 for a studio, €13.5 / m2 for a one-bedroom flat and €12 / m2 for 2-bedroom.

So botticelli's flat would be around €608 here.

A nice appartment for year long term in Altea with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom: 450€ per month
The same appartment but from May to September: 600-650€ per month. If you rent it in long term, not.

You can also rent if you look deeper an appartment for a year long term even with 400€ per month. 2 bedrooms too.

A room costs about 200€ per long term, although if you want a summer room it rises up to 300-350€, which is pretty acceptable too. You can rent a detached house per 600-650€ per month in a year long term.

So rentals are quite cheap, and if you go to Benidorm which is just 10km from Altea, you can find old appartments (old but not bad, pretty good) for even 350€ a month with 2 and even 3 bedrooms.

I found rent really reflects local wages pretty well, yet sale prices rarely do.

Depends on the neighborhood but in general (only including apartments)...

400-499 euro for a tiny apartment

500-599 euro for a small apartment

600-699 euro for a small-ish apartment

700-899 euro for a medium aparment

900-1099 euro for a large-ish apartment

1100-1299 euro for a large apartment

1300+ euro for a huge apartment

I don't think you can find anything for under 400 euro.

this is true in most cases, but not in all, for example wages here are pretty high (a waiter in a restaurant earns 1400-1500€ per month without counting tips) and the rent is cheap compared to the wages

you go for example to Barcelona and the rents are astronomical, they aren't very good compared to the wages, it's true that many people in Barcelona earn really high wages but a normal non qualified worker earns the same as here. In Alicante if you go outside of the centre you will find very cheap rents, you can find 2 room appartments even for 300€ a month which are very cheap in comparison to the incomes

in Ibiza are also astronomical specially for the holiday rentals, there has been a tv programme on some rental houses which were asking for 400€ per month for a bed in a shared room with another person!!

and do you know what? they were full of people, they find a person really quick to fulfill that place, as the people looks always for rentals in Ibiza because in the holiday season the island it's full of work for people coming from another EU countries or from mainland Spain, the islands have a quite low unemployment rate but the year long works are for locals, in the holiday season they need additional workers
