Well how about "American version of English language" - would this be it?

Nuh, simplified.
Americans like to simplify anything and everything, plus when you have so many non-English speakers absorbed on a regular basis, it WILL become simplified, naturally))))

You know the difference between vacation and holiday, don't you?

How is this an "upgrade"?

You are very wrong. There is very much American English, which is pretty different from British English.

Are you a linguistic? A professor in the field of English linguistics or English language instruction? I don't think so.

By the way, I am an English teacher, I do have a degree in the field and I work in that subject and yes there is very much American English. Word choice use in the states is somewhat different from Britain, and there are other differences between the two countries on a national level in terms of English spoken.

Really? Well in that case prove it by posting your comment again but this time by using 'American' English instead of English.

You think so?
In this case I wouldn't be anxiously prompting the "American English" button whenever I am offered a choice, since God knows whether I'll ever understand the "mates" and THEIR English)))
I don't want to take my chances, particularly when it comes to software and such)))
