For every one of the articles Winterfall has posted I can give observational confirmation.
Oh you mean like the claim that Germans secretly still hate Jews and this is the reason why they let in "rapefugees" to have them do to Jews what they would want to do themselves but are afraid of doing because that would hurt their worldwide reputation? That Germans led to the fall of the Roman Empire which shows what an uncivilized bunch they are to this date and makes them resonsible for poverty in the world because we wouldn't have any had the Roman Empire prevailed? Or that they forced the Euro onto other countries in order to turn them into slaves? His claims are more exciting than a movie, I enjoy my popcorn every time I read this thread. Their pension system seems to be in trouble indeed though and would be a valid claim of what is "wrong with Germany". Winterfall has not mentioned anything about it though, only hilarious things like those mentioned above.
Germany is the most powerful country in Europe but people? Unfortunately no!! Germany is changed in the last years, work has decreased, labor rights have declined and the number of the poor is grew...
This is the true Germany, when there are workers that after 40 years of work they get 600/700 € for mouth of pension...
It is hard to reconcile such a reality with Sunday's election results. The party whose appeal is on these fronts had its worst showing in decades. The CDU's losses were not to parties of the left but to those of the right. Issues like immigration, further EU integration: these were the ones that voters responded to. Not pensions or profits.
Income equality has grown around the world. Tougher labor laws didn't help France or Italy.
For every one of the articles Winterfall has posted I can give observational confirmation. The recent German economical success has been purchased by selling out the German workforce and society in general.
There have been disgusting cuts in social benefits like retirement. Of course, the hefty mandatory contributions haven't been cut at all, which I see as the main issue.
Workers rights have been hollowed out, while big companies get relieved of their obligations. Volkswagen and many major banks, for example, have been given free tax money and extremely employer-friendly labor law reforms when they were in a pinch. How do they repay society? Diesel scandal, large scale ***-ex fraud and finding even more ways to exploit labor to the max. The German armed forces can't even get working military equipment out of the German industry anymore.
I see retired people salvaging puplic trash-bins for bottles and cans every time I go to town. These can be turned in for pawn at most stores. A friend recently told me that, as he works, his calculated retirement has decreased by 25% instead of accumulating as it should. I personally know qualified and experienced workers who have been let go at age 45 and never have been able to find any other job in any field.
In a nutshell, the problem is not that Germany is either too socialist or too capitalist. The problem is that Germany is capitalist for companie's and their profits while socialist for their obligations. It has morphed to a system unfair to the employee and private person.
I don't know what Winterfall has experienced to compell him to keep such a thread going and going. I will, however, advise anyone in here to not put him off as some troll. Pay attention to what he has to say. There is a lot of truth to it.
I do not see any truth in his statements, fortunately.
Why do people always rely on the government to care for them? They complain that they do not have enough money - work more! They complain that their retirement money is too little? Well, invest your money wisely instead of asking for the government. The retirement fund is based on how much money you pay in. If people do not pay in enough, but still ask for a high pension, something is going wrong. Somebody has to pay, and I do not want to be that one.
I think Germany needs some deregulation and more free markets. Investments in real estate often do not pay off, because of stupid rules about the rent amounts and the tenants rights, etc.

Working more doesn't pay off, diminishing returns, thus the government must be overthrown!
Merkel has focused everything on the rules, hard and tough, and this has depleted the middle class and dhas made the poor even poorer.
But Germany is the country more powerful of Europe..this is IMPORTANT!!!

You don't get it.

Depends on what one is looking at. (anthropology?) Imagine waking up one morning to find another country's government in the offices ... I read an outline once of a paper written on the ancient civilizations, some of the points that seemed to have repetition among the ancient(s) were, economic strife, famine, decline in military, take over by rivals. (rivals followed the same path)
At least in Germany the problem is not boring breakfasts!
In Germany all the food is boring
