The EU and Jean Claude Drunker can speak whatever bureaucratic language it wants as far as we are concerned.

The European Union has announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the EU, rather than German, which was the other contender. Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had room for improvement and has therefore accepted a five-year phasing in of "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make sivil servants jump for joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of the "k", Which should klear up some konfusion and allow one key less on keyboards.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f", making words like "fotograf" 20% shorter.

In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of the silent "e" is disgrasful.

By the fourth yer, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.

After zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubls or difikultis and everivun vil find it ezi to understand ech ozer. ZE DREM VIL FINALI COM TRU!

Other announcements include a change of name for the new organisation which will be known as Germania, with a new more simple currency called the Deutsche Mark to replace the Euro, whilst moving headquarters from Brussels to Berlin will be far more convenient for everyone, whilst the new leader of the EU to be known as the Chancellor rather than President and will also be based in Berlin.

Finally I must remaind all Germania Citizens that they must carry zer papers, as for you Englander - ze war iz over.

^ well, that would be a European issue. Brits should focus on how to serve the USA and leave Europe alone.
I'd rather everyone speak German than English.

Hate to break this to you, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the New Development Bank which you are fond of are heavily dominated by China, India and Russia. Guess what the sole working language of both institutions? English

You might argue that English is an official language of India... but honestly not many people ordinarily speak English outside of work unless they are not local people. Nevertheless English is the commonly used global second language.

Trust me, English will be the official language of an European superstate.

very few Chinese, Indians and Russians speak each other's languages - they are completely different. That's why they speak English.

On the other hand, plenty Spanish, German, Italians speak decent French. The EU should have a "keep English out of Europe" program.

The reality is that a greater integration of the EU is a project mostly defended by elites and outsiders. Europeans people themselves do not want it, as it was expressed in multiple referendums.

How many European people really understand the economics and long term benefits of the EU project? Very few, so why do their opinions matter? One is entitled to a vote only when he has a deep understanding of the issue, otherwise, why bother?

Unfortunately for you if you want to communicate with the world outside of Europe you will have to stick to the 'English', or of course you could go find a 'City Data' somewhere else that is in German? Missing you already
