Yeah probably lived in a neighbourhood of 0.05% "pure" * French nationals. France has done itself a huge diservice by pandering to these people. They are paying big time today.

They are learning the hard way sadly. Not everyone in the world is nice, even if you are nice to them.

I don't think the shooting in Strasbourg has anything to do with the yellow vests at all.

The usual Commedia Francese as their Italian neighbours (who know them well) used to say. Nothing out of the ordinary : the Frogs want less taxes but more aid from their government, so, entitled as they are , "they want to have their cake and eat it", and they are ready (at least some of them, however with the tacit acceptance of the silent majority) to riot and block the economy to reach their -unattainable-goals. Hence because of the Yellow Vest movement and the destructions that accompanied it (the retail and tourism sector is paying a a high price), the French National product will lose 0.4% this year, which is enormous given the fact that the French growth is already slow. Red Pill France! of course the (weak) Macron government yielded and agreed to a lot of the demands from the yellow vests, thus digging to the tune of 10 Bn. € the French deficit, already equivalent to the GIP. Some of these yellow vests don't fear being ridiculous : I've seen on TV fat bearded yellow vest bikers on their (expensive) Harleys saying (or rather hollering) that "they are blocking the highway because they are close to starving" ...presposterous.

How conveniently it happened during the peak of protests though.

From what I understand immigration from the Middle East is something that has angered the protesters. Seems like terrorists are intentionally trying to stir the pot in France. Remember these people actually want to start a holy war. They have the mentality of people living in the 12th century.

There is a fairly generalized social climate of tension in France right now.

Under those conditions it is always possible that people who are unstable to begin with are more likely to be triggered, for motivations that have nothing to do with protests like those of the Gilets Jaunes.

Well, sure, anything that night give a reason for people to stay at home is good enough for the authorities at this point.
