I agree. Leipzig is really a beautiful city. Here is a picture of their old town.

I drove through Burghausen the other day, between Salzburg and Passau. It was a delight, but there was only one backerei open for the afternoon.

Colonia, Dresden, Halle (Saale), Rothenburg ob der Tauber (a lost jewel), and, of course, Berlin. I think Heidelberg is overrated. The landscape don't fix at all with the architecture.

In Germany I would have to say Dresden. The scenery is stunning with a decent city vibe to it. Very cheap too.

I was stationed in Wiesbaden, so I'm a little partial to that city. The drive along the Rhein from Wiesbaden towards Köln is full of lovely villages and castles. A very beautiful part of the world.
