So, for the past year I went from being fairly out-of-shape to being, if I can say do myself, pretty kick-ass shape.

However...with all the running I've been doing my upper thigh area above my knee has gotten HUGE. Like, I have a bulge beginning at my kneecap that sticks out, and the that "ridge" almost goes up to my butt.

Is there anything I can do (HEALTHILY) stretch this out or tone it down? I mean, I can definitely live with this...but I kind of feel like I'm hulk lady looking at my legs. LOL

Oh, and PS--if you haven't figured it out, I'm a chick (if that matters).

Leave it there and show it off.

Yeah...yeah...

It's just I'm a petite chick everywhere else, so I prefer the 'long & lean' look for my legs. But I suppose there's worse things I could be trying to fix...

I second that as well!!! Nothing wrong with nice legs I guess you can cut down the running and swim instead for cardio so your legs won't be worked out as much? Do you do squats or any weight lifting exercises for legs at all?

I love strong legs, so I wouldn't worry myself. If you want a leaner look though, I definitely suggest yoga as well. Or you could bulk up the rest of your body to match your legs if looking proportionate is your priority.

Your body knows what it should look like, let it be, let it be.

When reading your post, I thought perhaps you would be petite. I am five-eleven and can't put any bulging muscles on me no matter how hard I try. Everyone wants something they can't have, it seems

But...long and lean...have you tried Barre work? For example, Physique 57 or The Bar Method? They don't work so much for me because I am already long and lean but have been told my many others, particularly those who build muscle easily, these workouts will lean you out quite well.

Don't do a thing......except exercise more. Nothing more sexy than a lady's big, strong legs.

Ugh....why do people think a chick only sculpts her body for a man's pleasure...blaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Ok...now that I have my feminist vomitude out of the way...

Lose weight (like 5 or 10, not a lot) and go for distance running style.

Also train your muscle daily. When you let it rest then it bulks. Heavy weights and short sprints make it bulk. Look at your diet. Maybe if you reduce protein or calories. I would pick protein first. And go hormone free on all your animal products.

I like what biking has done for my legs. Its more my style and keeps them from looking too weak or too muscular. I also eat lower protein and hormone free. Water fasting awhile ago took some muscle off too. But its not for everyone.
