I've always been really hard on socks, but now that I'm walking and working out a lot I can put a hole in a pair in one day. Or they get so thread bare that I get blisters on my feet. It's getting ridiculous. I'm tired of buying socks.

Do they make athletic socks that actually last a while?

I'm in love with any sock by Wigwam or SmartWool. You can find both at a discount at the Campmor website.

And Jockey! I have socks from Jockey that are decades old, literally, and almost as comfy as they were when they were brand new.

I'll add another vote for Smartwool. I've also had very good luck with Darn Tough socks; Darn Tough Vermont: Running Socks, Biking Socks, Hiking Socks, Trekking Socks, Ski Socks, Snowboard Socks, Hunting Socks, Fishing Socks, Birding Socks

Thanks! I'm going to order some Smartwool. And I'll pick up some Jockey socks today.

Try winter diabetic socks (look up on Ebay). They even hold up to multiple washes.

So far, the Jockey socks are holding up pretty well. It's only been a few weeks but so far so good.

I haven't tried doubling up socks because I wear gel inserts in my shoes, otherwise that would probably be an effective and easy solution.

I saw some diabetic socks at the store and the ones I saw do look fuzzy and comfy. I wasn't aware that they are also durable. That's good to know.

If you trimmed those bear claw toenails of yours and filed down those dang corns and bunions you wouldnt have any problem with socks.

I just wear whatever socks the wife buys for me. She probably gets them from Marshalls or Ross or someplace like that. Cheap name brand socks always seems to work for me. Nike and these Wilson tennis socks are great.
