I am ready to start back at the Y after a year absence. I have exercised most of my life, and these days love riding my bike; but at the gym I was able to work out my arms, back and abs, and was feeling great. After awhile I got tired of driving down there and thought I would just do it at home with some tension cables. Well, it didn't work out. It was a hassle to set up the cables every time and take them down, and being by myself it just didn't motivate me.

Being a woman of a certain age, I look a whole lot better with some good muscle tone, which I was getting while going to the Y. I really miss it, and am pumpled to start back. Just waiting for the hubs to front me the funds!

Went to an ice hockey game for the first time tonight.
I've always been interested in this game due to its raw intensity and simplicity.
Yet I never got into it when I was younger due to various reasons.

If everyone has a specific motivation, then I've just found mine.
Get dirty on the ice at night, spend the rest of it in the gym, sleep during the morning!!

I dont like working out alone but i dont like going to gyms either. I dont exercise in my own home because its easy to give up and go park my butt on the couch. However, if i walk/jog/run a mile down the road it doesnt matter if i want to give up or not. i still have to turn around and walk/job/run a mile back to the house. Nobody is going to come get me.

Having someone there to motivate me (even if its just them yelling "move it lard butt") is about the only way i'll actually exercise on a regular basis. Id much rather be doing something else.
