I have been really worried about my health in general I spoke to a dietician and she said you have to run around the block or go to a gym because the GP doctor said I have to lose atleast 10 to 5 kilos of weight.

now I am going to buy a stop watch and time myself as I run around the block I can not leave it because I am exposed to getting type 2 or type 1 diabetes even if right now I do not have that because I am young but when I get older I will be more exposed to catching it.

its not gonna happen and I want to make sure I lose this weight now and start now early before its too late.

Cut out all bread and wheat items if you consume them. Read all food labels. Drastically reduce beer consumption because it contains barley, a wheat derivative. Don't eat processed foods if at all possible. Drastically reduce carbohydrate intake and eat somewhat higher quantity of vegetables, fruits, and lean meats. Increase the exercise and watch the weight come off.

Hi. I'd also like to add that it's important to enjoy exercising and reward yourself for your efforts, so that you don't become frustrated or feel that it's a torturous chore, and then abandon your exercise routine.

For example, if you have an IPod shuffle or portable music device, you can listen to your favorite music while you walk or run, and afterwards, do something special for yourself, such as a favorite hobby.

Good luck!

Great, some kid needs to lose a few pounds and the first advice he gets is eliminate wheat? OK...

The first thing the OP needs to do is log everything he eats for a few days. Plug it into an online calorie calculator. This one is free and works great - Calorie Counter | Food Nutrition Data for Healthy Eating Choices - but there are many others out there. There is also a really good weight loss forum - Weight Loss Forum

Start burning more calories than you eat and you will lose weight.

Eat less (more fruits/veggies, less processed foods). Exercise more (even walking!). That's the answer.

Diet and exercise - the obvious answer - but the devil is in the details!

For diet - lots of great information on the diet forums here - I also recommend the South Beach diet - a very quick read and a good place to start as you begin to learn about nutrition.

For exercise - the quickest route is to focus not on weight but decreasing body fat % - strength training is the quickest method. Lots of good threads in this category on that. After a few months of strength training I recommend shifting your focus to long distance running/walking/biking - This will promote long term increases in basal metabolism that will give you better long term weight control

Take this with a grain of salt (no pun intended), but everyone that I know who has eliminated or drastically reduced their wheat consumption has lost quite a bit of weight. Read the book "Wheat Belly" for more details on why modern wheat derivations in food products have little in common with those of the past.

One Killo=2.2 lbs

I lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks by cutting down on my food intake....203lbs down to 175lbs...lowest weight in over 25 yrs.

Had a problem with Neurophy in my right leg/thigh and a lot of pain.

Losing the weight has greatly reduced the daily pain and now just have remaining numbness.

NOT a recomendation for everyone but some things will work for some and others...NO WAY.

The answer (for all of us!) is as obvious and simple as the answer to: "What is the first thing I should do when surfacing after holding my breath for a considerable time?" (Take a breath, obviously!)

We all know that the answer is: 'Stop eating so much; Avoid high-calorie, fatty foods; and get some excercise' (No surprises there!).

Most of us, however, then ask the question: "Is there another short-cut that doesn't require so much self-discipline?" ("Maybe I could watch a weight-loss video on my iPhone....or possibly hold my breath or hum a 'weight-loss song' whenever I get on the scale" ..... "I think I'll just have a few brownies and think about it some more!")

As with any addiction, and I believe that overeating is an addiction no different than tobacco, drugs, or alcohol, just resolve to beat it and then keep trying. Perhaps you will fall down but dust yourself off and try, try again. Eventually you'll find that it will take.

As for exercise I recommend some form of endurance training, like long distance running. Low intensity but work up to 1-2 hours. That's the way to burn fat
Team Oregon Tip

Best wishes.
