I don't bring my own music, it gets in the way and I focus more without it.

I like it when the gym plays rock, like classic rock, hard rock, whatever. Good for lifting.

My gym usually plays booty-pop or like, Train style wussy rock. Kind of makes it harder to get motivated.

When lifting weights, no music. I want to be totally focused on my form. Lighter weight and proper form is much better than heavy weights and bad form. Do a youtube search of "gym idiots" and you'll see plenty of examples. For walking (can't jog due to foot/ankle problem), I use the lolo ap for my iPhone. It plays a variety of walking music or uses music in your play list and varies the beat/tempo according to your designated walking pace. It will change up the pace up or down. If you find it's too easy or too hard, you can drag your finger across the screen to increase or decrease the walking speed.

My music from my Ipod. My gym plays overhead music from the 80's!

Usually 80s/90s dance pop, hip hop, pop music, and occasional electronica.

My gym is confused. I need to drown out their music. It is either disco (ok), pop-r&B (booty-pop, lol!), or the quiet storm smooth r&B. What the heck, how do you workout to songs like:

Better than music because I don't fall into the trap of letting the beat dictate my pace.
