Okay so I am back to exercising after not doing it for three years. I am ready to get back in shape.
I am 5'3 1/2" and 112 lbs! I am size two. I have a good body, but just want to tone up and get a little muscle on my arms and legs and abs. I been working out for over two weeks now and I am noticing my appetite increasing like crazy! When I do not work out I eat twice a day and I am fine! My exercise routine is (I have my own home gym) three miles on the treadmill (I love this machine!) on 3.4 speed, and I lift weights for about half an hour! I do this after dinner time around 8 or 9 at night. I always get hungry after working out and I cannot say not to food so I eat. I fix myself a hearty sandwich with cheddar cheese. I am also noticing I am hungry in the morning so I eat before lunch and snack after lunch, then dinner (bigger meal than before) and I eat again. Is this normal? Will my appetite get back to normal or will it increase even more or what?

You don't eat breakfast? Think about it, say you eat at 11 pm and then again at 12 pm the next day. That's 13 hours without food. Your body is burning calories while you sleep. Of course you will be hungry in the morning after sleeping 6-8 hours.

If you're exercising, you need to be feeding your body and muscles adequately. Diet is the single most important factor in attaining any fitness goal. If I were you, I would eat my meals 4-6 times a day spaced out every 2-2.5 hours.

Your body requires fuel. If you increase the demands on your body, you also increase its demand for fuel.

Think breastfeeding - you almost literally have to eat/drink for two because your body is contantly being taxed.

Increased exercise does this as well, but I found I always craved HEALTHY food after a workout so it worked out fine.

No I don't eat breakfast. I drink two-three cups of coffee, but I put a lot of half-half in my coffee, I am assuming its like drinking a cup of whole milk, thats a lot of calories right there.
The coffee with cream keeps me going until I have time for lunch break.
I hate breakfast but I know its very important. I go to bed around mid-night, wake up at 9, start work at 10 am and eat around noon or 1 o'clock. Now that I think about, I know why I get hungry. LOL.
Even though I have no breakfast, I do eat like two lunches, so that is okay if I don't eat breakfast.

3 pounds is nothing to worry about... =/- 3 pounds is water weight and food.

If you can handle not eating breakfast that is ok. There have been many recent studies that disproves the idea that you have to eat breakfast to ramp up your metabolism. As long as you are eating the proper amount of calories per day it does not matter if it comes from 6 meals or two. Your body will not go into starvation mode from not eating breakfast. However, the half and half thing is pretty inaccurate. If you want milk, then drink milk. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't half and half loaded with sugar and processed garbage?

I think the big issue with not eating breakfast is people tend to overeat to make up for the loss of breakfast later in the day.
