I don't know how someone who works for a living can do this. Who has the luxury of this kind of time? Not me, that's for sure.

Op, how can you have any energy at all eating that few of calories? Just wondering.

I feel more energized the fewer calories I eat. I know that low caloric intake increases the lifespan of mammals, so it has to be good for you in some way. I am pretty hungry most of the time, I won't lie, but I make sure I get as much nutrition in those calories as I can.

I'm a housewife/SAHM, so that does make it easier. However, it doesn't take long to drop a quick protein shake 2 times in the day. That's what I do when I'm pressed for time or don't feel like cooking.

I just got my PT certification, but I haven't started working yet. That might make it a little harder for me to stay on track with my meals, but I'll find a way to get them all in.

The issue I have with most of the "shakes" that I have seen on the market is that they are loaded with chemicals. If that weren't bad enough, for some reason they insist on making these shakes sweet which is horrible. I am not fond of sweets to begin with and the idea of eating something sweet when you are hungry is revolting. I have thought about doing veggie smoothies (think V8 juice or Bloody Mary) but again, the time commitment to do that is just overwhelming to me.

I tried "shakes" for a few weeks. It was too annoying, and I just didn't like it all that much. I ended up finding a few protein powders I liked with minimal ingredients. But it felt way too artificial for me.

I did enjoy coming up with new combos though. I used a lot of coconut water, ginger and avocado in my fruit smoothies!

I've had some protein shakes that weren't too sweet. Right now I'm using MaxPro from Max Muscle and it's Ok.

Sometimes I use liquid egg whites and mix it in with whatever I want....v8 fusion, regular orange juice...you name it. Just get creative with it.
