Considering the way fat people get bashed on this forum I'm really not surprised.
LOL! I am not posting my BMI. People can guess based on my pics and form their own opinions. Defining a healthy weight for me is not up for public discussion!
I have no idea what my BMI is and I don't track it. I go by how I feel and how I look. BMI is not the Holy Grail of health or a healthy weight range. It doesn't take gender or body build into consideration, which is a serious drawback to the formula. For instance, my husband would come in at 32.8 BMI - very overweight - but the man is NOT more than about 15 pounds overweight max. He's got huge shoulders and very muscular legs - a very muscular build overall.
He also just aced his yearly physical, except for his triglycerides which are slightly elevated - but not within a terrible range. Hey - the man is a meat eater, what can I say? But he has already implemented dietary changes that should bring those triglycerides into a normal range.
His doctor didn't even bat an eye, considering his frame size. He said, "If you want, you could lose maybe fifteen pounds." Heck - he can lose that in two weeks! (NOT FAIR!)
My point is - there is NO WAY he's "morbidly obese" which is what a simple BMI calculation makes him out to be.
I believe the point of the project is to demonstrate how "ridiculous" BMI is by showing how average women qualify as overweight and obese...except they all look pretty accurate to me. Don't get me wrong, BMI is a very rough measurement of health, but there's this silly idea that to be considered overweight, you have to look like Ursula.

the only time bmi gets REALLY ridiculous is when it doesn't account for muscle versus fat. the triathlete on that page obviously has more muscle weight than fat. but for the average person with light-moderate exercise levels, it's a decent guideline, and i absolutely agree with the labels for most of the people on that page.
I don't know but I'm 5"4" and 138-142lbs..Depending on how hard I hit the gym and if on the skinny train or not. But whatever it is, I'm not happy with it so I'm engineering the skinny train now, lol
What's the point of threads asking what people have worn today or trends in nail color polish? If it's not remotely interesting to me I don't post.
