Yeah, no wonder I was starting to enjoy it.

I have a new strength routine today, and I may try some sprints on the treadmill, and see how my feet do.

Well I gained "15" pounds while on Thanksgiving week in Myrtle Beach. I put the 15 in quotes because it's not really possible to truly gain 15 lbs of fat in such a short space of time, but regardless now that I'm back I have to get back to fighting shape.

Unfortunately my desire and my physical condition are not aligned and I'm feeling bummed. I picked up a respiratory issue (cold or some virus I guess..maybe even allergies) in Myrtle Beach that has plagued me with hacking, dry coughs that cause my lungs to get inflamed. Of course this did not bode well for my cardio workout last night. Even though I tried to keep the exertion level in check, I was in constant danger of breaking out into a coughing fit and my lungs were bothered by whatever it is that's bothering me.

I lost strength Had to return to 25 lb dumbbells and was straining to pick them up while doing overhead press. Prior to vacation, mind you, I left 25 lbs in my rear view mirror and was lifting 30 lbs. I just couldn't finish my workout yesterday, I had no energy.

I did a new routine of super sets.... didn't do any sprints. My butt was kicked.

I always tire at the 1 hour mark, never fails.

Day 2 of a grueling first week back. Cardio is still a challenge since I'm hampered by the coughing/stuff on my chest, so I take breaks throughout and try not to overexert/tax my lungs. It still takes me many minutes to recover but at least I can do my 30 mins on the elliptical. I'm not one to exercise when I'm feeling beat up, but it's not much of an option right now. My arthritis pain has kicked in big time since I hadn't exercised in a week, to the point where going up a flight of stairs is painful. I have to stay active to remain pain med-free.

Returned to healthy eating and have lost a little over 6 lbs so far. My body is beginning the purging process, ridding itself of excess water and the like. Cardio should be helping with getting rid of the fat I gained over the vacation. It's hard to believe that I carried OVER 70 LBS at one time. I feel sluggish, bloaty, and altogether miserable just putting on 15 vacation pounds. I just can't carry this weight over the long haul, it sucks! and i can't wait to get it off. It's also hard to believe that I ate like that every day for years...no wonder I was obese I just can't do that now...my body will send me unpleasant signals that it's not happy.

Strength wise I did a little better. For the bench press, I removed some plates and did 65 lbs. when I feel better, I'll go for 75 and then 80 again. Not gonna let myself get derailed from my goal of 100#.

Cardio day, and I put emphasis on BPM. For the first 15 minutes kept it 165-170 BPM. Did 10 different abs, squats to military press 3/10/#30, and then 10 minutes cardio at 155-165 BPM. I kept the resistance at level 7.

The cardio was so short because me legs are crazy sore from steps with 20# weights yesterday.

That's my excuse and I am sticking to it!!
