What are some of the most common excuses you hear from people for not exercising and eating healthy? I will only throw in a couple of each so others can contribute as well. I usually hear this:

1) I don't have time to exercise because I work long hours.
2) I don't exercise because I'm sorr the next day.
3) I don't cook because it is easier to eat out.
4) I don't like healthy food because it doesn't taste good
That's it for me at leadt for the time being, now it is your turn. Bring it on.

Hi 1orlando--

"I'll get to it eventually."

But time or lack thereof is the number one thing I hear from people.

Funny how "eventually" can "eventually" turn into a decade or more of a sedentary lifestyle. Then there will be gym-hell to pay trying to get back in shape.

I tried to talk myself into the "I don't have time" excuse for a while when I was not in the best shape of my life and thankfully I woke up from that nightmare and knocked some sense into myself.

#2 is about the lamest excuse in the world. I work out TO feel sore the next day. If I'm not sore the day after I lift weights I feel like I didn't work hard enough, and I sort of enjoy the soreness.

To add to the list:

1) I can order a Whopper meal. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical at level 2 yesterday. They'll cancel each other out.
2) I don't want to lift weights and get body builder arms. I've actually heard girls say that whose arms had a circumference wider than most body builders I know. And it wasn't muscle.
3) I don't eat veggies. I'm a carnivore. (I actually have a friend who says this - soon as he hit his mid-20s he totally ballooned. Wonder why.)

It's too hard.

But carrying around an extra 50 pounds of flab and being out of breath from walking up stairs isn't hard?
