Zero! I used to really be bothered by this, as I used to be a competitive weightlifter (Olympic style) but even with all the training, my upper body just wouldn't get strong enough for even one.
During the summer before my 19th birthday in September I could do 11 both behind the neck, wrists toward and wrist facing away. Not in one continuous motion but with about 10 minutes of recovery time in between. I weighed about 220 at the time. At age 30 the number had dropped to six but I weighed 300 by then also. Today: Zero LOL.
Started a weight lifting program 4 weeks ago and I'm up to 7 the last time I checked. Could maybe do 1 before that. I have yet to incorporate deadlifts or squats into the program yet, just some kettlebell swings, dumbbell exercise, bicycle ab exercises, and wind sprints.... my entire 20's I was just a moderate intensity jogger and that really gets a person nowhere other than for the enjoyment of it.
Still in the learning phase... getting a routine planned and monitoring results, recording myself and watching it to gauge proper form, planning a program designed to gradually increase intensity.... planning to get an olympic weight set along with a power rack in the near future. Focusing on the basic total body movements and of course proper diet.
chin ups or pull ups? I don't think I've ever done a chin up. I can do 1 pull up unaided, but I usually use a band for support and can do more, a couple sets of 5-6. i don't kip. Last year, I was able to do more until I had a couple of injuries.
I know rock climbers, gymnasts, military personnel, firemen, MMA, can pound them out like no tomorrow.
Hah, I wish. I'm a fireman I can do about 10 pull ups. Maybe 12 if I feel like collapsing when I'm done.
