Has anyone experienced this? I have been using my arms to lift things or do handyman jobs everyday for 2 weeks straight. My upper body was sore till a couple days ago. But in the last 2 days, it went from sore to painful all throughout my arms. I'm going to rest for a couple days. Is there anything else to speed the healing/repair of overworked muscles?

Potassium. Electrolytes. Supposedly tart cherries.

First and foremost rest. Icing might help for about 3-5 days, and a massage might help. You really need to rest and not take a chance. Muscle strains are generally a minor injury that will heal on their own if you listen to your body. If you don't they can turn into a major headache. A few years ago I strained my hamstring trying to run too fast. I had never had a hamstring strain before so I didn't rest properly, and ran in a race a couple months later. It took me almost two years to really get over it.

I've heard the tart cherry thing too, and also I read that radishes are good for muscle strain. Why, I have no idea, but apparently there is research behind it. I like both cherries and radishes anyway, so why not try it? Get some rest--don't make a 2 year mistake like I did.
