Add a daily does of psyllium fiber supplement.
Overall, they're very safe with a couple of exceptions: they can lower blood sugar do diabetics should be cautious, and there might be some interaction with medications.

try balancing out your diet with whole grains (rolled/steel cut oat meal) low carb fruits with fiber (berries/appless,etc) lean protein (chicken breast) fish; tuna has a good fat to protein ratio. and a lot of veggies. I suggest staying away from any produce bought from the store shelves. Drink plenty of water!

I don't know what your objective is, but do exercise, too. gl

Been there, done that. Happens to me. When/before it strikes, take 2 "gentle relief" dulcolax (generic for me) every day. It's not a laxative, but a softener. Just enough to keep things moving...works for me!

The Atkins diet recommend taking two sugar-free fiber supplements per day. Include them in your carb count.

They are quite yummy (compared to the bland diet food I usually force myself to eat) so you will have no problem eating them.

Got a bit of a traffic jam huh? Try a plum or a granola bar.

Did any of these options above work for you ?? I'm very curious to know bc I too am on a low calorie diet and have had constant constipation for 3 weeks , it's very irritating . I want to see if I can take care of this without medications before I see my doctor.

Is there any reason for this? How do I fix this? I can't eat any more beans, I already eat like 400 cals worth of plain beans a day and if I have to eat any more beans I am going to murder a man

The things that I had to give up for the diet were bananas, soda, apples, fried chicken, pastrami, matzoh ball soup, meat pierogi, and all Caribbean-based food. Is the lack of sugar/fat causing constipation? Also I consume 200g+ of protein a day so that I won't become catabolic. Could it be the protein intake?
How's your water intake - at least four Poland Spring bottles equivalent per day hopefully?

OP, giving up apples is not the best idea. A medium apple contains about 4.5 g of fiber and about 95 calories and will help keep you regular.

Add an apple a day back into your diet and see if that helps.

Added: OH! Zombie thread, from 2013!

Hope the OP got on a better eating plan.

Hmmm, I hope *something* worked for the OP. The thread was started in October 2013

Yep, this is an old thread. Just add fiber to your diet.
