That's a good idea, but he doesn't need to lose weight. If anything, he is too skinny already.

I can't envision him in a dance class, but maybe he will surprise me and be the next Fred Astaire. Lol

I'd leave him on the sofa and enjoy perving on the athletic bodies at your gym.

This would be my advice as well.

the hard part is making him want to go - many guys egos are easily bruised - have you tried just discussing the long term benefits - but in a way that doesn't hurt his ego - both benefits for him and what it would mean to you? you would think it should be obvious, even to a guy! but guys often won't face up to the truth - bit like avoiding the doctor. If they have a serious chat about the risks and benefits, as well as what it would mean to you - obviously you want to see him fit and healthy - maybe you can entice him.
if he gets started, you need to encourage him to keep going until he feels the benefits flowing thru his body - the danger is giving up because it seems boring - but if he sticks at it till he starts to feel that buzz of energy in his muscles, then there is a better chance he will stick at it - and don't under estimate some encouragement - guys love it!

He has started to exercise a bit here at home. It's not much, but it's a start.

We found some of my old dumbbells in the garage and he has been using those. I might get him a set of new ones if he sticks to it. It seems silly that he uses weights that I discarded a while ago because they were too small.

Any idea how I can motivate him?
