Write in my diary, image index each page, usually with something from a movie. Going back through and "checking my notes", seeing that image because it is now part of me, personal to me, too, gives me a second's entry into a fantasy world (before reality re-established itself).

So, say, from a page I don't mind talking about, there is this on the picture index page:

http://cache.reelz.com/assets/conten...trailer-01.jpg
http://images4.fanpop.com/image/poll...81284_full.jpg

Where Aaron Burr was about the "burr" I felt in my throat, Tevye was about a situation of "same thing we have done for 20 years", and the 7 little guys was about returning to work after vacation.......ie, "I Owe! I Owe! It's off to work I go!"

Or this from 2 days before Christmas:

Where Irena was about my black cat Melinda taking protective hiding on a shelf, Athena (classic Battlestar) was about getting rest before my work shift, and the last was the Charlie Brown tape I watched that day.

It works for me......though given how my intensity has picked up in the past few years, from going from about 3 months per diary volume to less than a month, perhaps I am more under stress than before......................or I have found a better way to handle it.

I started mountain biking a few months back.
Great scenery and you can pretty much stop anywhere for a rest if needed.

Cycling or running. When I run I listen to music. Music really helps.
