More energy. It's one of the main reasons I keep at it (when I can) and really am disappointed when I don't have the time. I have a high metabolism so I really haven't lost any weight since starting (was at a normal weight to begin with and stayed there), my blood pressure and cholesterol and all that were also not bad (were normal). It did slow my pulse a lot to, so that is a secondary benefit--not one that I really notice however. But it is nice to have whatever stroke-risk I may have had decreased somewhat. My pulse was over a hundred a lot of times. Now it is often in the 70s or even in the high 60's sometimes.

I don't hold a certain goal, as I only care to do it in moderation. I would say confidence is the best benefit, plus knowing you are doing something productive compared to the average American killing brain cells sitting in front of the tv for the latest reality show.

Well, then you have possibly placed too much importance on food and eating?????????

I have do so myself for most of my life, made food and eating into a bigger thing than I feel it should be!!!

It's possible. It's also possible that good food and good exercise make living enjoyable.
