Yeah, I guess the classes would be worth it, but I just weight train and do minimal cardio.

Do you pay for child care over & above monthly fee? Even if you do I assume its a necessary gym requirement if you have little ones and no one else is around to watch them.

Our $85 is a family plan that includes everything the facility has to offer except personal training. When we lived in Monterey we joined the Monterey Sports Center. Monterey, CA is WAY more pricey than where I currently live. That club was $75 but child care was $5 per kid per visit. We had two at the time, so if we went 5 days a week that was $200 a month in childcare. Ludicrous. It was fun to live in Monterey for a while, but we are really liking it out here in VA.

This doesn't include personal training costs, I'm assuming?

I attend a women-only gym that's basically 36/month. It's part of a chain, but that's the single-gym membership. I'm quitting to switch to a fancier co-ed gym closer to my home (8 miles compared to <1 mile) for 79/month. Went for the first time today....love it! It's a great treat for me considering I go to the gym 5-6 days a week, sometimes everyday. I also go to a local yoga-studio, but it's a prepaid, 10 class card: 110-125 for 10 classes.

I'm not going to have personal training at the new place. Currently I pay 280 for 8 visits a month.

I spend a lot on health clubs/fitness. Too much. Which is why I'm dropping training and going for the closer, has-it-all gym.

Never would need to go any other location and DW has same membership. Don't need a guest pass.
No frills, no pool, no sauna, no hot tub, no juice bar, no babysitting. No stuff I wont use anyway.

Plenty of ellipticals, tread, bikes.
Tons of LifeFitness iso machines.
Big mat area w/ bands, balls, balancers, ketttles, stools & rope.
Large DB, fixed BB & bench area.
Couple of Hammer Strength racks.
One Smith machine.
Big cable gym with 8 stations.

Prolly could have more equipment, and DW would prefer more classes at freebie rate - but I'm good to go.

I usually go during the day so never an issue getting to where I want to be, but evenings you have to shuffle around a bit.
Equinox owns Blink Fitness. That is their solution for Planet Fitness.

All 24hour Fitness except Super Sport and Ultra Super Sport, which is still 99% of all clubs for $49/year. I paid $800 up front for first 3 years then $49/year. They don't have this plan anymore. Glad I did this while I was in college using my credit card.

I'm in Chicago and pay $25 for the YMCA. All the group fitness classes are included in the membership...

And a fairly decent solution to the problems with PF.

Yeah, Blink is somewhat of a no frills gym, but for the reasons already stated - it works.
