Honestly, having seen your posts across multiple threads here, I think you should focus first getting your programming dialed in before worrying about supplements. You're still undecided about how you're going to train, so you should focus on that first.
Having a good training program and adherence to it matter much more than supplements.
Pretty much this. I did weight training for months before i started taking any supplements.
Personally, I think it's a waste of money. Unless you are a competitive athlete looking for an edge over your opposition, you're just spinning your wheels and accruing unnecessary expenses. The cost vs the benefit is relatively insignificant. You'd be surprised at how well you can do with the right programming, a healthy diet, and plenty of rest.
I am thinking about including creatine into my regiment but I am wondering if there are benefits to using it. Does it really help out with work outs? I keep thinking that it'll make me gain weight.
Any thoughts on adding it next time I hit the gym?
There are definitely benefits to those who produce and sell it.
I'm also gonna ask some people at the local supplement stores around here. I'm sure this thing is overblown and that it only relates to large intakes of creatine.
Oh yes, that's always a great place to get the facts about something. To ask those who make a profit from selling it.

I would suggest following the YouTube channels of well known supplement users for education, such as Gregg Valentino, Natty Graham, Rich Piana, and Zyzz.

The facts disagree. Creatine use runs +/- $0.10 per day. For the significant performance and aesthetics gain, it's a no brainer.
