Holly S. You two are rockstars. Good for you. I'm 30 years younger than you both and can do between 15 and 18.....so, you should feel great about where you are.
Thanks I'm a little guy though. I'm only 5' 6" 145lbs. Not alot of weight to pullup.
My short arms help. I always do weighted pull-ups, so regular ones are a breeze. I recommend that everyone do "negative reps" with weight once they've reached about 15 or so. You'll need a partner to assist you.
I can do 7 to 8 when fresh. I typically do 3 sets of 5 to 6 with bar-dips or push-ups in between.

I was up to about 15 before focusing on running again. I can do 25 to 30 push-ups. I haven't tried to do those until failure in some time. A couple of years ago I was up to 40 push-ups.
